New Website Exclusive – Outdoor Garden Accents

Friday, February 15th, 2013

It’s never too soon to start thinking ahead towards the warmer weather. Did you know it’s actually only about a month away until the official start of spring? Start planning your gardens and other outdoor spaces now, to better be able to enjoy them for more months out of the year. Today, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that there’s always more on the Sturbridge Yankee Workshop website; including hundreds more site exclusive items that will help you furnish and decorate your home for all seasons.

Rusted Steel Garden Decor

Recently added to the SYW website exclusive Outdoor Decor category, are some new ways to add style and personality to your patio, walkway or other outdoor garden space. Pictured here to the left is our new Welcome Garden Stake. Our Welcome Garden Stake offers a hospitable welcome to your home. “Welcome” is largely stated in rounded font, and is accented with leaves and a bushel of grapes below. The metal appears textured with both natural steel and rusted steel elements.

Another similarly constructed item recently added to the SYW website, is our Dove of Peace Sign, shown below. Holding the traditional olive branch, the dove silhouette connects into the word “Peace.” The dove has long been a symbol of peace and while the message and notable image is highlighted during the holiday season, this sign promotes prosperity throughout the entire year.

Handcrafted in the USA

First cut from 12 gauge or stronger steel, the sculptures are then sent to a greenhouse to begin a rusting process. After developing a rusted patina, and achieving the desired look, they are ready for home gardens and lawns everywhere. The metal will continue to naturally weather outdoors over time; further adding to its antique appeal. The artist feels the natural rust is the perfect way to bring design into the garden. Each of these new garden accents are proudly handcrafted in the USA.

About the Artist

The original designs were created by artist Susan Regert, of Z Garden Party. Susan grew up on a small farm in northern California, and was involved in raising Suffolk sheep, followed by later managing the family cattle business. Her understanding for animals and exposure to the beautiful open landscape of farm life, has inspired her throughout her artistic career. She has produced many pieces of art over the last 30 years, ranging from watercolors to lawn art, and her most recent, metal garden sculptures. Her work has been shown on the covers of 2 U.S. magazines, and her garden art has gained national recognition and appreciation as well. Susan enjoys designing outdoor decor for both the serious and whimsical collector.
