Fall into the Autumn Season with Festive New Decor

Monday, August 27th, 2012

It’s slowly becoming that time of year again when we begin thinking about the fall harvest season. Although we would like to stretch summer out as long as possible, we know it’s inevitable that we’ll have to bring the outdoor fun back inside. The nights are getting cooler and the leaves will begin to change color; it’s a time for new beginnings. For many, the transition from summer into fall isn’t an easy one, but let Sturbridge Yankee Workshop ease you into it, with some of our favorite fall decor items of the season.

Festival of Colors

This fall 2012, we are happy to add a variety of new decor items that are perfect for your home during the fall and harvest season. Pictured here to the left is a versatile item, our Mini Harvest Time Wreath. Displayed as a clever candle ring, you can of course hang this wreath traditionally on a door or on the backs of your dining chairs. The striking ribbon it is tied with is our new Copper Plaid Ribbon. The ribbon is 3 yards long and is ideal for harvest decorating with its bright orange, cranberry and copper hues; consider using this ribbon to tie a fall birthday gift.

Woodland Lighting

Searching for new accent lighting? At Sturbridge, there are lighting options both small and tall, and one of our more petite lights this season includes the new Pinecone Lantern. This made in the USA lantern is ideal for use as a table accent lamp or night lamp in the bedroom. Our tabletop lantern is cut and carved from reclaimed wood and emits a warm glow through lampshade paper panels. The pinecone inspired design instills a natural, “woodsy” feel to your home environment and is appropriate to display year round.

Fall Beauty for Your Walls

There is a nice selection of wall decor at SYW, that is truly perfect for the fall season. A great example of what have to offer is seen here to the left, in our new Apple Pie Print. Well known Vermont artist Fred Swan shares a sunny autumn day on the farm. Apples are ready to be picked for the season in this view from afar, looking down on the rural farmstead. Be sure to click on the product page to get a close-up look at the clouds rolling over the hill covered countryside, highlighted by breathtaking foliage. This framed print is proudly made in the USA.

Around the Home

Sometimes all you need is a good hooked wool pillow to add a fresh decor accent to any room. Display our new Harvest Pumpkin Pillow (shown below) on a favorite chair, living room couch or even propped on an entryway bench. Designed by Diane Ulmer-Pedersen, this pillow is crafted of 100% hand hooked wool. Pumpkins are ideal fall accents as they are appropriate through the Thanksgiving holiday.
