With spring comes the infamous Spring Cleaning ritual. With winter receding and the freshness of spring upon us, this is a great time of year to refresh and rejuvenate our homes. To help you get started on your spring cleaning, or finish it up, today we’re featuring five must-have spring cleaning solutions and home fresheners that you can find at sturbridgeyankee.com.
E-Cloths® have become popular for their eco-friendliness and effectiveness. We offer two types of E-Cloths® here at Sturbridge Yankee Workshop. The first is one designed specifically for range/stovetop cleaning. Using just water and either the scrubbing side or finishing side, your stove will sparkle. The second is actually a glove made for dusting. The non-scratch material allows almost any surface in your home to be dusted quickly, effectively and without damage (unavailable as of May 2018).
After you’re finished, use a Microwave Splatter Guard on your food dishes to prevent splatter and spills from sticking to the inside of your microwave. These guards are dishwasher safe, so you will end up not having to clean anything by hand.
Something else on your list of spring cleaning to-dos is likely to get your four-legged family member clean. The Filthy Mutt Dog Soap is made right here in Maine out of natural ingredients and will get your pup clean without the use of harsh chemicals. Since it’s biodegradable, you can even wash your dog outside with this soap (although here in New England we would wait until the spontaneous snow storm and mud seasons are over).
Finish off your spring cleaning with a soothing floral scent spritzed around your home. This linen mist is made in the USA and features imagery by artist Mary Lake Thompson. It can be sprayed on linens, upholstery, pillows and other home accents to create an appealing springtime freshness – especially when your windows are open and the scent can mix with a cool, refreshing spring breeze.
