Christmas Eve is just a week away! We’ve talked about our selection of beautiful holiday decor for your charming home, and highlighted a few of our favorite pieces that are must-haves for the season. This week, especially since the clock is ticking for shipping and ordering, we’re highlighting a handful of unique and beautiful DIY projects from a variety of bloggers – they’re child friendly too! So whip up some extra decor for your holiday party or set up a craft table for kids on Christmas Eve.
If your Christmas and greeting cards are piling up on a table or counter somewhere, and you want to get a little more crafty than using a decorative card holder, we found a charming solution at the J and A and Co. Blog. Simply adorn your cabinets (or even a door to an office) in festive ribbon, add a bow or two, and attach your cards with a piece of tape on the back. You most likely have the extra ribbon lying around anyway, or it can be easily purchased online or at a dollar store. You can see other holiday DIY projects from J and A and Co. Blog here.
This next project uses a popular object: the Mason jar! A cute little snowman is created from a simple list of materials and a little bit of time – use different colors for the eyes and earmuffs for a little personal style; this is perfect as a party favor to send home with your guests, especially if they make it themselves. You can find the full set of instructions at Club Chica Circle.
Popsicle sticks: a crafter’s reliable, multi-functional must-have. At CraftyNest, they have put together a simple tutorial for creating snowflake silhouettes out of these infamous wooden sticks. What we love about this DIY is you can make it all your own by choosing different paint colors, ribbon colors and fabrics, and adding buttons, glitter or other accessories to turn your home into a snowy winter wonderland. See their directions and find shapely inspiration here.
Our last featured holiday DIY is from Krokotak, a website dedicated to children’s activities and crafts. Their fir tree project is one that can be done when you don’t have a lot of time but need a little something extra for that centerpiece, or for keeping the kids occupied during a family Christmas party.
