Colorful Country Kitchens

“Rooms should not be put together for show but to nourish one’s well-being.”
- Albert Hadley

The kitchen is a gathering place, a creative place and in many cases, the room that gets the most use and love in a home. To celebrate the kitchen we have put together ten country kitchens that make use of color and texture, making them cheerful in the spring, welcoming in the summer, warm in the fall, comforting in the winter and unique to their residents all year long. Let us know your favorite, and share stories of your kitchen and how putting it together has nourished your life and family in the comment section below.

Kitchen Storage and Surfaces: Carts and Tables

Thursday, July 28th, 2016

Three Shelf Kitchen CartSome kitchens need more storage space; some need more counter space; and there are definitely many kitchens needing both. We have a few kitchen cart and table ideas to utilize in your kitchen depending on its needs – take a look below.

If you need something portable, especially if you are short on space already, a cart with wheels could be your best option.

Drop Leaf Kitchen Cart in Natural

These two examples offer similar features but have a few key differences. The white cart offers both open and hidden storage; the shelves are great for mixing bowls, cooking utensils, cookbooks, and other items you use on a daily basis. The hidden storage can be used for food, less commonly used appliances and more, and there’s even a drying rod for hanging towels up to dry.

We also love this additional wheeled cart for its drop-leaf surface; giving you more or less counter space depending on your task. A large cabinet and a drawer offer ultimate hidden storage, and like its counterpart, there is a drying rod for towels (this cart is also available in white). Another option would have space to store mugs and an extra shelf.

Cupboard Table in Black…or No Wheels

Stationary tables also offer the stylish space you are looking for. The rustic Cupboard Table features a spacious counter top surface but is still slim enough to fit into your kitchen. The cupboard is perfect for baking items, cookbooks and other necessities, and with so many color options to choose from you can complement or contrast the space just the way you want to.

Berwick Counter Table in Walnut

If you’re needing just a bit more tabletop room but have plenty of storage cupboards, a counter table is perfect for you. At the right height you can prepare meals or add an extra eating space within your kitchen (especially if the table comes with seating).

How have you maximized your kitchen space with a cart, table or extra cupboard(s)? Share your ideas and let us know if you’ve used our tips in your home decorating projects.
