Quick Tip: Decorative Dishware | Sturbridge Yankee Workshop

When in doubt, take your dishes out! For the holiday season especially, decorative and/or unique dishware can pull double duty around the house. Display in a front hall, on a counter top or other flat surface, and then when guests arrive, wash them up and use to serve appetizers, desserts and other treats.

Wednesday Spotlight: Musical Magic

Wednesday, December 9th, 2015

Family, friends, good food and cheerful decor are all part of what makes the holidays so wonderful. Music, of course, is another – whether you put on your favorite record, dance to an upbeat pop song or carol along with Christmas music, there are many ways to enjoy the days with sound. This week, we are spotlighting five musical items that will keep you uplifted and your home organized and well decorated.

Musical Christmas Book DisplayIn tune with the season, our Musical Christmas Book Display brings a holiday storybook to life with charming carolers, beautiful colors and all signs of the season. Eight classic songs play beautifully from the book, spread cheer throughout your home and among the hearts of your guests.

Musical Santa Sleigh

Santa takes the reins in the next Christmas musical sculpture, and leads his four reindeer into the night, presumably on Christmas Eve. “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” plays as you enjoy a holiday party, a snowy evening by the fireplace or as you give this accent as a gift to be enjoyed for many holidays to come. Beautiful details complement your own charming decor, and bring the festivity out of anyone.

Holiday Train Musical Snow Globe

We love nostalgic gifts and decor that remind us of childhood holidays and inspire us to carry on and create new traditions, and a classic accent that is found in many homes is the snow globe. We are featuring our Holiday Train Musical Snow Globe, since it plays “Over the River,” a testament to going to grandmother’s house and visiting with loved ones. The train in the center circles the village as snow floats down, spreading charm throughout the holiday season.

Executive USB TurntableFor many, listening to classic and favorite records is most cherished during the holiday season – can you get any more nostalgic than when listening to the vinyl of your favorite songs and musicians? Many newer artists still release their own music on vinyl, so a turntable is a charming way to unite all generations of loved ones, especially during Christmas and the holidays.

Record Carrying CaseOur Executive USB Turntable from Crosley presents a regal look that is portable, so take it to a holiday party or just to different parts of your home. Featuring a USB port, you can also convert your favorite music to digital files for when you can’t take the turntable with you. We also recommend our Record Carrying Case, for seasoned vinyl collectors and novices alike. Your records will stay organized and safe from dust and other elements so you can enjoy them for years to come.
