Thursday’s Theme: Pumpkins on the Porch

Thursday, August 30th, 2018

August is ending, leaves are changing and the kids are back in school – autumn is certainly upon us! It’s no secret that we’ve been in fall mode for over a month now, but it’s time to kick off a series of harvest season posts here on the blog. We hope you’re able to draw some inspiration for your own fall decorating as well as share how you’re accenting your home for fall; indoors or out.

For today, we’re featuring four creative ways to display pumpkins on your front porch, back deck, walkway or any outdoor space. Let’s get into it.

One of the top things that make fall decorating so fun is the simplicity;
nature basically does the decorating for us, we just have to add our own
personal touches. If you have outdoor planters that you fill with autumn
flowers, or have plants still thriving from summertime, give them a harvest
look with pumpkins. Smaller sizes work the best, and we recommend
using the classic bright orange variety. Throwing in a couple of extra gourds
adds even more welcoming color and texture.

Of course, you don’t need planters to achieve this look.
A wicker basket, wood trug and similar home accents
filled with pumpkins all offer a bountiful look to outdoor
living spaces. Add hay, straw or even fallen leaves for added charm.

Now this is creative.
Put a witchy spin on your front porch pumpkins by arranging them in a trellis
(find it here) – just stack them on top of each other until its full. Add a pointed
hat and voila! A Halloween decorative that works for Autumn, too.

Last but certainly not least, create a stack of pumpkins that showcases
initials, a painted design or even your address. Planter not required.

Weekly Spotlight: Autumn Tabletop Accents

Wednesday, September 27th, 2017

As we move from September to October we’re bringing out more pumpkins, leaves and harvest decor to fully celebrate the season. One of the best ways to add fall charm to your home is with festive place settings and tabletop accents. Take a look below at some of our assortment, and view more (for all seasons) here.

Placemat and Table Runner Pairs

Along with many other new decor in our Holiday 2017 catalog are placemat and table runner pairs that make decorating a complementary table easy. You’ve seen our linen-like polyester placemats and runners before, and this season we’re introducing the Autumn Harvest and Autumn Maple & Butterfly designs. The Paprika Autumn Lace is also crafted from easy-care polyester (making holiday cleanup oh-so-simple), and both pieces feature a vibrant paprika color that is made elegant with oak leaves and acorns. When you shop our Holiday catalog, you can get free shipping on all three of these collections!

The Magic of Melamine

Harvest Melamine Dinnerware

Our Harvest Melamine Dinnerware made its first appearance in our Fall 2017 catalog for good reason. Melamine’s durability and functionality make these bowls and plates perfect for entertaining a large group of family and friends, a rambunctious group of kids, as well as your immediate family during normal mealtime. They are dishwasher safe and shatterproof, and have we mentioned the warm orange finish that is ideal for autumn?

Crow & Pumpkin Braided Jute Trivet

We would not be true to ourselves if we did not mention a braided jute tabletop accent, and this particular trivet combines country crows with plump pumpkins for a welcoming harvest accent. Use it to protect tabletop and countertop surfaces from hot dishes and plates, or simply lay out to accent autumn collectibles and decor.

Monday Must-Haves: Fall Turkeys and Pilgrims

Monday, September 19th, 2016

Large Turkey SculptureFeathered Turkey SculptureOur holiday season begins this week with the release of our newest catalog, and today we are highlighting five must-haves to enhance your harvest decor and get you ready for Thanksgiving.

Basket of Bounty Pilgrim Sculpture

Sculptures and Collectibles

Turkeys and folk art collectibles make joyful decor for the fall season, and these three new sculptures do so especially. This Large Turkey Sculpture would be charming in a centerpiece or on an entryway table to greet guests and spread Thanksgiving cheer throughout your home. His rustic exterior adds an antiqued look which will last year after year.

Making a slightly different impression with just as much charm, a Feathered Turkey Sculpture brings textural appeal to the table or a shelf. This particular sculpture is made in the USA and is a whimsical conversation piece among other turkey home accents.

Wild Turkey Pillow

The newest Williraye Studio™ collectible, also in our catalog, features a pilgrim couple who give thanks and present the season’s fruitful bounty to your home. Their folk art charm and earthy colors perfectly complement the season and other harvest keepsakes.

I'm Stuffed Thanksgiving Scroll

Wall Art and Pillows

You may recognize this square pillow if you shopped our last Harvest Sale. This year, our Wild Turkey Home Accents feature a warmer, beige background with a beautifully detailed scene of turkeys enjoying a fall day.

This pillow not only adds style and seasonal appeal to your home, it adds comfort to your sofa, a rustic bench or upholstered chair and is perfect for year-round use, too. It’s a great size and will add country charm to any room.

A more plump turkey can be found on our I’m Stuffed Thanksgiving Scroll, as can a relatable sentiment. With Victorian era-inspired clothing, you can create a primitive look with whimsy anywhere in your home while wishing all who gather around you a happy Thanksgiving.
