Monday Must-Haves: Fall Table Settings and Decor

Monday, August 7th, 2017

While there’s still plenty of time to enjoy the rest of summer, we don’t blame you for thinking ahead to pumpkins, turkeys, leaves, gourds and all things fall. Today, we are thinking about [fall] centerpieces and tablescapes, and the five must-have home accents to make any autumn occasion comfortable and well decorated (including some suggestions from our Fall 2017 catalog).

1. Table Runner: Forest Friends Table Runner, Crow & Pumpkin Braided Table Runner

A table runner keeps your table and dining room decoratives grounded; use similar colors and textures of the table runner in wall accents and other decor, and keep your table adorned with fall charm even when there aren’t guests surrounding it.

2. Placemats: Autumn Oak & Butterfly Placemat, ©Williamsburg Jacobean Placemat

Especially when matching or coordinating with the table runner, placemats can invigorate your place settings, and in many cases offer two looks in one.

3. Candles: Fall Leaves Pillar Candle

Set a romantic, lighthearted, welcoming, and most of all, cozy mood for Thanksgiving dinner and other events celebrating the harvest season. Add a warm scent or keep it flameless for worry-free accent lighting.

4. Dinnerware: Harvest Melamine Dinnerware

Durable, dishwasher safe and decorative; melamine dinnerware is a must-have for holidays and special celebrations.

5. Floral Touches: Mini Autumn Wreath, Green & Red Berry Stem, Faux Mini Sunflowers

Red and orange flowers, berries, candle rings and other natural touches bring any festive look together. Faux florals are ideal options for keeping a look throughout the fall months, but placing fresh picked flowers into rustic tin vases or a display bowl adds a personal touch that can be swapped out.

Summer Colors We Love

Red-orange, sunny yellow, sage and natural shades of green and rich blues are our favorite colors this summer. The cheerful and traditional looks of these colors mimics the good mood summertime puts us in and offers the most complementary style in our country homes.

Bold Braided Rugs - Daffodil and Daffodil MultiOmbre Stripes Wool Rug - SageWhether you’re decorating with poppies, sunflowers, ferns or decorative grasses, real or faux, make sure to look for the most natural, or closest-to-the-real-thing colors in your fresh picked bouquets and permanent arrangements.

If you prefer to change out colors for each season, area rugs should be your go-to home accents. Braided rugs are a timeless favorite, and you can go bold with a bright solid color or be a little more subtle, yet bold, with a multi colored rug that pulls complementary colors into the threads and spreads them across the floors of your home.

Our Ombre Stripes Wool Rugs also offer color combinations, and Sage adds the perfect combination of greens and yellows to your home for summer.

The softness of the green hues add color to your bedroom, tabletops and dining spaces without looking too heavy; think airy and light as ideal green shades for this time of year.

Our final favorite color for summer is one that we truly love any time of year: blue. Navy blue and aqua are on opposite ends of the blue spectrum, but are equally beautiful when adorning your home in summer decor. Aqua caters to coastal and beach decor, while darker blues enhance country charm and will complement wood furniture and cheerful paint colors no matter what the style of the room is.

So bring out your rugs, centerpiece accents and floral decor in all of these colors for a bright and beautifully decorated summer! And share with us how you’re accenting your year round pieces with summer decor and what colors you’re trying this season. Happy styling!
