Dusting/Cleaning E-Cloth® Glove | Sturbridge Yankee WorkshopRange/Stovetop E-Cloth® | Sturbridge Yankee WorkshopWith spring comes the infamous Spring Cleaning ritual. With winter receding and the freshness of spring upon us, this is a great time of year to refresh and rejuvenate our homes. To help you get started on your spring cleaning, or finish it up, today we’re featuring five must-have spring cleaning solutions and home fresheners that you can find at sturbridgeyankee.com.

Microwave Splatter Guard | Sturbridge Yankee Workshop

E-Cloths® have become popular for their eco-friendliness and effectiveness. We offer two types of E-Cloths® here at Sturbridge Yankee Workshop. The first is one designed specifically for range/stovetop cleaning. Using just water and either the scrubbing side or finishing side, your stove will sparkle. The second is actually a glove made for dusting. The non-scratch material allows almost any surface in your home to be dusted quickly, effectively and without damage (unavailable as of May 2018).

Filthy Mutt Dog Soap | Sturbridge Yankee Workshop

Often our microwave gets left behind in everyday or weekly cleaning, so here is your reminder to give your microwave a good scrub this spring (you could use the E-Cloth® above!).

After you’re finished, use a Microwave Splatter Guard on your food dishes to prevent splatter and spills from sticking to the inside of your microwave. These guards are dishwasher safe, so you will end up not having to clean anything by hand.

White Floral Shrub Linen Mist | Sturbridge Yankee Workshop

Something else on your list of spring cleaning to-dos is likely to get your four-legged family member clean. The Filthy Mutt Dog Soap is made right here in Maine out of natural ingredients and will get your pup clean without the use of harsh chemicals. Since it’s biodegradable, you can even wash your dog outside with this soap (although here in New England we would wait until the spontaneous snow storm and mud seasons are over).

Finish off your spring cleaning with a soothing floral scent spritzed around your home. This linen mist is made in the USA and features imagery by artist Mary Lake Thompson. It can be sprayed on linens, upholstery, pillows and other home accents to create an appealing springtime freshness – especially when your windows are open and the scent can mix with a cool, refreshing spring breeze.

Weekly Spotlight: Pi[e] Day

Wednesday, March 14th, 2018

Today’s date, 3.14, also happens to be the first three digits of the mathematical constant called Pi. Since we aren’t mathematicians here at Sturbridge Yankee Workshop, we’re celebrating this day by spotlighting five tools and home accents related to Pi[with an e]. Take a look below.

Whimsical Stand Mixer Designed Aprons

We agree with artist Pat Hutter that Pie Fixes Everything, even the hunger of a little Huckleberry Pug, captured by photographer Ron Schmidt. The right seasonings and spices in any pie are most accurately added when using Measuring Spoons and tools, and if you decide to make your own crust, a Rolling Pin is a must-have. If you’re making a pie that requires mixing or ingredient combining in an electric mixer, our Stand Mixer Aprons will keep the ingredients off your clothes.

Tell us your favorite kind of pie in the comments below!

Spring is in the air at Sturbridge Yankee Workshop, which means our entire catalog is on sale and you can get free shipping on curtains! For this week’s Must-Haves, we’re featuring our five newest curtain collections to show you how you can freshen up your window treatments this season.

Garden Birds Lace Valance | Curtain Collections | Sturbridge Yankee WorkshopLace

Our two new lace curtain collections are Pineapple Crushed Lace and Garden Birds Lace. Both are offered in two classic, neutral colors; both will bring a warm, welcoming feel to any room; and both are made in the USA.

The Pineapple Crushed Lace complements a variety of solid colored curtain panels, as well as our Gold Pineapple Curtains. You may recognize the pattern on the Garden Birds Lace Valance, as we carry a coordinating Table Runner, and also new to spring, two more tabletop accents.

Signs Of Spring Curtain Collection | Curtains | Sturbridge Yankee WorkshopCotton & Polyester

Our newest cotton curtain collection is decorated with elegant jacobean in earthy, natural colors. The Coburn Curtains are made in the USA and have a luxurious weight fit for any season.

Both the Signs of Spring and Grandview Curtain Collections are crafted from easy-care polyester fabric; the former offers seasonal whimsy while the latter (available in six colors) gives any room a stately, timeless look.

All three make charming statement of their own, but can certainly be paired up with lace curtains for a deeper, layered look on any window.

In the case of the Grandview Curtains, you could also carry the same fabric throughout your home in different colors to match each room’s style while maintaining a complementary look.
