Although we are entering the final weeks of our spring catalog, there’s still plenty of fresh style and new home accents available to furnish your home. Today on the blog we are featuring five pieces of decorative decor that feature birds and natural or classic designs. Since April showers bring May flowers, we are prepared for our gardens to burst forth with life in the next few weeks, and to celebrate that, here are some of our dream garden must-haves that go beyond flowers and vegetables.
A Multi-Pergola Walkway
The illusion that this garden goes on forever is one we can subscribe to.
A Water Feature (preferably a pond, ideally with a waterfall)
Being from Maine, we love the sound of ocean waves crashing on the shore and the
babbling of woodland brooks, so a water feature with a waterfall would be most appropriate.
Not to mention it would offer additional gardening potential for water-loving plants and flowers.
A Shed for Storage
Because gardening supplies deserve their own space, especially in a dream garden.
And, a cozy storage shed gives any garden a timeless storybook feel.
A Dining Space
For tea parties, morning coffee and afternoon garden soirees,
we would use teak furniture to create our garden dining room.
A Place to Sit and Rest
This lavender bench has so much character, and gives a pop of color
to a space with lots of greenery. But we also like the soft look of the
arch arbor-bench combo, which flawlessly blends in with surrounding
plant life (add an outdoor accent pillow for more comfort)!
Raised Beds (DIY beds are the best, but this stone one is exceptional)
Raised beds offer more opportunity for walkways and paths,
and provide beautiful architectural value in addition to functionality.

Now that we’ve completely moved on to spring (thanks to the weather finally catching up to the calendar), we are all about decorating our homes in spring pastels, greenery and florals, Easter bunnies and songbirds. For many homes, the fireplace mantel is a focal point, or at least a gathering point for family and friends, so we have rounded up a few seasonal looks to make your home welcoming and spring-like. And if you don’t have a mantel, no worries! Many of these style techniques can be transferred to a bookshelf, a floating shelf or even a tabletop centerpiece.
Incorporating just about every aspect of spring style, this decorative mantel stays true to the muted color palette of the room while still making a charming seasonal statement. We love the three bunnies (hear, see and speak no evil) and the SPRING banner.
Color dictates this look, although you don’t need to paint your walls yellow (or whatever color you choose) to get the same cheerful effect. Yellow is used throughout this display: in flowers, a runner and books, and is complemented by a few gold accents to contrast the wood flower box and flower pot. Using a simple color scheme and incorporating varying textures and materials works almost 100% of the time. The chalkboard is a whimsical touch, too, although wall art would also work well here.
This floating shelf is not a mantel, but we like the look of the hanging wicker baskets against rich greenery and white accents. A great display for a chimney that is not exposed, your home will reflect the natural qualities we admire during the springtime.
The standout on this mantel is the combination of glass and distressed wood. Glass jugs and bottles of various sizes, shapes and colors can bring life to any space, especially when filled with tree limbs, greenery or flowers. The terrarium adds unique detail that brings the spring look to any room throughout the year.
If you need a little symmetry on your mantel, placing two of the same flower arrangements or sculptures on either end will fill that requirement. This also helps bring a look together if it feels a little too chaotic, or not as refined as you would like it to be. The pink bulbs on this shelf also brighten up the look, especially against a gray or muted wall.
The most simple way to decorate a mantel, of course, is using a strand of garland to give life and color to the room it is in. We like the added lettering on this mantel, which gives it a more full (and spring specific) look.
