Quick Tip: Holiday Decorating in a Bedroom (Halloween)

Achieving seasonal whimsy in a bedroom is as simple as adding a festive accent pillow, an in-season flower arrangement, wreath or garland, and adding a candle or two. Take it a step further and incorporate a soft sculpture, large figurine and/or holiday-specific lighting. You will be able to achieve a festive look that complements – and doesn’t clash – with your staple home accents.

Decorating with Color: Red, White and Blue

Thursday, June 28th, 2018

Decorating your home in red, white and blue during the summertime is perfectly festive and seasonal, but if you want to incorporate these colors into your home all year long, here are some tips to do so.

American Flag Accents

The most obvious – and easiest – way to decorate with red, white and blue is to incorporate
American flag accents throughout your home. Pillows with flag imagery, blankets with the stars
and stripes
and even flags themselves are the best ways to do this.

Bold, Yet Classic

The below space offers a red, white and blue color palette that is much more bold than is typical
for these three colors. However, by using complementary and classic patterns – checks and stripes –
the room is tied together in colorful harmony.

Subtle, Yet Statement-Making

The room below is adorned in red, white and blue, but that isn’t necessarily where your mind went when you glanced at it. Using different neutrals along with the white, different shades of red and blues, as well as incorporating colorful furniture gives the room Americana charm while maintaining a more modern look.

All Americana

Did we save the best for last? We’ll let you decide that, but the final red, white and blue style for this
post is Americana. Differentiating from the more modern and subtle look above, true Americana is
more folk art and a lot more rustic. The color hues are toned down to offer a true country feel
which makes any room more cozy.
