There’s nothing like a summer week with high temperatures and sun to inspire a frozen cocktail recipe. And today, we’re keeping it simple with a classic daiquiri recipe (if you have strawberries on hand, this recipe is just as refreshing), using the 2-1-½ ratio. If you are craving more of that lime flavor, we recommend adding just one teaspoon more of the freshly squeezed juice; a little goes a long way! And if you are without a blender or prefer your drink on the rocks, combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and enjoy.
What You’ll Need:
- 1½ cups crushed iced
- 2 ounces light rum
- 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
(make sure to strain the pulp)
- ½ ounce simple syrup
- Lime wedge for garnish, optional
- Add all ingredients to a blender. Pulse, then blend until a slushy consistency is reached. If the consistency is too thin, add more ice ¼ cup at a time. If the consistency is too thick, add more lime juice or simple syrup (depending on if you want a more tart or sweet flavor) two teaspoons at a time.
- Pour into a chilled glass, garnish with a lime wedge (if desired) and enjoy!
