Thursday’s Theme: Fall Flower & Plant Arrangement Ideas

Only one day stands between us and the official first day of Autumn. So today we are sharing some fall flower and plant arrangement ideas that you can DIY quickly, and in most cases, with items around and outside your home.

One of the best vessels for holding plants and flowers this time of year is of course, the pumpkin. For an almost-perfectly cohesive look, use craft pumpkins in place of real pumpkins. Or, carve the top of a real pumpkin and clean it out like you would if you were creating a jack-o-lantern. Place flowers and greenery inside – they will look their best if their stems are trimmed relatively short. You could also place a candle inside and surround it with a mini wreath or strand of bittersweets and leaves.

Mason jars are consistent stars of DIY projects, and especially when they are painted with autumn colors and filled with flowers, it’s easy to see why. But if you use Mason jars for canning or food storage and don’t have any to spare, painted coffee tins and similar containers offer just as much charm. Even empty wine bottles can be painted and used for single blooms along a table or mantel.

Of course, what we hope you gain from this this post is how “charming” doesn’t have to mean “complicated.” And fall typically offers items right outside your door. Collect pinecones, colorful leaves, twigs and other natural elements, throw them in a glass vase and voila! Instant seasonal style. A ribbon can help spruce up the look, and potpourri will add even more freshness to your indoor living spaces.
