A Stylish Way to Add Decor & Protection to Your Table Surfaces

New Tabletop Decor

Recently added at Sturbridge Yankee Workshop is a new selection of decorative placemats for your kitchen or dining table surfaces. Pictured here to the left is the reversible, Old Orchard Apples & Pears Placemat. The detailed images on this placemat will remind you of walking through an orchard on a rural country farm. A bushel of apples hangs from a tree branch, while an alternate image exposes the fruit’s core. A brief stanza of manuscript adds time period details above the sketch of a farmhouse, as it explains: “Red Delicious Apples were first grown in an Iowa orchard in 1880.” The reverse features the same design concept, but this time honors the pear. A complementing red or green border and white blossom flowers, frame the placemat imagery.

Geography at the Table

Made of decofoam plastic, this placemat as well as the U.S. Map & Landmarks Placemat shown here to the left, are proudly made here in the USA. The United States Map shows off all fifty states in a range of pastel colors, listing both their capitol and a notable icon of the region. For example, Maine features the well-known red lobster. The reverse shares a selection of notable American landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty and Mount Rushmore. Teach your child geography at the dinner table, and keep their place setting neat and tidy at the same time. Purchase either of these durable mats for the low price of $4.95 each.

Antimicrobial Product Protection

The new placemats at Sturbridge, contain Microban®. This special protection helps to prevent the growth bacteria on the placemat. Bacteria can be caused by untreated stains, leftover food, and human bacterial cells. In combination with regular hand washing after use, the Microban® will further the life of your placemat. It’s actually built right into both the interior and exterior of the product, to better prevent mold, mildew and/or odor to reproduce. Please note however, it does not protect against food borne illness. Browse more designs with this form of protection Here.
