With all the items to choose from, you might consider one of the many decorating themes we have to offer. For those of you who have loved or maybe even own our Grandmother’s House Print (a five-star rated item seen here to the left) you will be happy to know we have expanded the collection. The nostalgic winter print will soon have you humming the special Thanksgiving folk song “To Grandmother’s House We Go.” Originally painted by artist Dianna Swartz, this iconic image is detailed in true folk art style. Set under glass, in a two-tone wood look frame this print is a charming piece of wall decor that’s perfect to display all season long. Last year we brought the exclusive design to a beautiful needlepoint pillow. Our Grandmother’s House Needlepoint Pillow features the same sleigh ride scene and a chocolate brown, cotton velvet back.

Last but certainly not least, our new for 2012 Grandmother’s House Mat, completes the theme in your entryway. Made of 100% polyester with a 100% recycled back, the doormat is a standard 18″ x 30″ size. Pair with our new Rubber Mat Tray to essentially provide a decorative scroll frame, and make for a stronger statement in your foyer or at the back door. Evoking the feeling of “home for the holidays,” the Grandmother’s House collection at SYW will bring back cherished memories of your childhood. The Grandmother’s House Print, Grandmother’s House Mat and Rubber Mat Tray are proudly made here in the USA. All of these items are shipped for free during the the holiday season at Sturbridge Yankee Workshop.

About the Artist:

Folk artist Dianna Swartz was born and raised near the hills of Southern Ohio. She was drawing and painting they say, before she could walk or talk. Today, Dianna lives a bit further north in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. For the most part, she is a self-taught artist, crediting her inspiration to God. Her artwork has been featured at the American Folk Art Museum in New York and has also been transferred to many household decor items such as: pillows, throws, woven tapestries, furniture boxes, and even wall paper. Dianna even had the honor of designing ornaments for the White House Christmas tree, as well as for the Governor’s residence in Ohio. She is nationally recognized for her “Folkheart By Dianna” collection of prints; being produced onto framed art and furniture.
